"This painting was inspired by my three dairy goats. Taking care of the goats and kids was never a chore for me, but always an enjoyable time. Early one crisp October morning in Iowa while watering the does I noticed the beautiful reflection of the does in the water trough. Of course, after running back to the house to get the camera and running back the does were nowhere to be found. The next morning I came prepared with the camera and snapped several photos from which this painting was created. These were my first Nubian grade does Daisy, Nanny and Misty. Like all goats, they each have their own personalities. Daisy is the bossy one, Nanny is the stubborn one and Misty is the shy one. Notice how the black doe, Misty, holds her ears up out of the water. She never liked to get water on her ears. These does will always be close to my heart as they were the first ones to introduce me to the dairy goat world. I have many fond memories of them and their kids."
